Tragedy struck on Saturday at Isale Asa Ilorin, Kwara State as a 21-year-old girl identified as Kemi, committed suicide.
Kemi, who was a fashion designer, allegedly took her own life with a locally-made rat poison known as sole lasan following derogatory comments from her mother during a fight. Her mother was quoted as calling her a complete failure and a disgrace to the family”.
The deceased who was unhappy about the comment went to her room and committed the act. She died on her way to the teaching hospital at Ilorin after her mother had raised an alarm when she found her in pains.
