NIGERIA'S SENSELESS INVESTMENT

That NIGERIA, the Giant of Africa, home to about 170 Million People, 2nd highest income earner in Africa, 12th largest Oil Producer in the world but sadly whose majority population live in abject poverty is investing huge sums in landing a MAN in space in no longer news.

I am a NIGERIAN and I don't need to be a Professor to know that SPACE TECHNOLOGY won't put food on the tables of my countrymen at this time.

An assessment of our basic needs as a nation is AUDIBLE to the DEAF and VISIBLE to the BLIND; "FOOD, SHELTER, POWER, SECURITY , HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURES & EDUCATION, just to mention a few.

The British Government granted £1billion to Nigeria for the purpose of SPACE TECHNOLOGY out of which £300million has already been disbursed this year alone. Such huge sums should be sourced & channelled towards the very critical sectors of the economy.

TO THE GOVERNMENT WE SAY:

Give us BASIC AMENITIES and stop wasting resources...........

Be sensitive to our needs and eradicate poverty...........................
