Late Dr Olusegun Agagu(65) was finally buried at Iju-Odo, Osooro community in Okitipupa council area of Ondo state yesterday.
Several dignitaries from different sectors attended the funeral to bid farewell to the late politician despite the tragic plane crash which consumed 13 of the 20 people onboard the ill-fated Associated Airlines Aircraft which was enroute Ondo with the casket of the deceased politician.
A Commissioner in the State Deji Falae, a protocol officer Daji Bernard and two other liaison officers in the Ondo State government’s Lagos Laison office were among the 13 persons that died in the crash .The accident led to the scaling down of funeral activities ‘’to its barest and basic minimum,” as it was made a ‘’private family affairs devoid of pomp and pageantry.”
A new Casket was purchased as the one recovered from the crash had cracks.Sources said that the MIC Undertakers which provided the first casket held onto the corpse for hours before releasing same following alleged intervention of a top security chief.
