SWEET REVENGE AS BAYERN DEFEATS CHELSEA TO WIN UEFA SUPER CUP


It was a night of firsts in the UEFA Super Cup. The first time the competition has been settled by penalties, the first time a German side has won it, and Bayern Munich's first glimpse of Pep Guardiola's Midas touch.

Jose Mourinho was left disappointed as his blue boys lost to a deserving winner last night.

Bayern came from behind twice in what could be termed "SWEET REVENGE" for their loss to Chelsea last year in the Champions League Final.

In flowing robes, Stephen Tari, 40, a failed Bible student, once led 6,000 'disciples' through the mountainous regions of the country, but was accused of killing at least three young girls and, as their mothers were forced to watch, drinking their blood.

TRAGEDY AS NIGERIAN BORN BRITISH SOLDIER DIES DURING TRAINING


Private Michael Ihemere,a British army soldier of Nigeria origin  died after collapsing while on a training exercise yesterday.

The 1st Battalion Mercian Regiment soldier, who was aged 26 took ill during a three-mile run across rugged terrain on the Catterick Garrison training area near Leyburn North Yorkshire. After it became clear that he was seriously ill, members of his unit, who returned from a tour of Afghanistan in April, alerted paramedics shortly before 9am on Wednesday.

TWERKING AND SELFIE ADDED TO OXFORD DICTIONARY


The Oxford Online Dictionary, in its bid to recognise current trends in words has included  the words ‘Selfie’ and ‘Twerking’ in the dictionary.

The word “Twerking” has been found to be common among hip hop trends for 20 years, while ‘Selfie’ emerged due to technological advances in phone cameras, which meant people could take high quality photos of themselves, if they were so inclined.

RIBERY IS KING OF EUROPE




Bayern Munich’s French winger Franck Ribery on Thursday won the award for European player of the 2012/13 season.

The France international becomes the third player to win the award, the two previous winners being Barcelona duo Lionel Messi (2011) and Andres Iniesta (2012).

Ribery won the award this time around ahead of Messi and Real Madrid’s Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo.


THREE ARRAIGNED FOR RAPING UNILAG STUDENT


Three men who kidnapped and raped a young Unilag undergraduate, Tolulope Titilayo(22yrs)  at Lagos Island were yesterday arraigned at the Magistrate Court. 

In the eight counts which the police preferred against the defendants, it was alleged that after raping the girl, the men also took snapshots of their victim and posted them on the Internet. It was alleged that within a few days of the upload, the nude photographs went viral on social media, exposing Titiloye to ridicule and shame.

DRAMA IN TARABA AS ASSEMBLY ORDERS GOVERNOR TO GO BACK TO USA


The return of Governir Danbaba Suntai to Nigeria is still generating a lot of dust as the lawmakers in Taraba have unanimously agreed that the Governor is still unfit to rule hence he should go back to the USA for treatment. They stated that they have been barred from seeing the governor since his return.

MOB BEATS CUSTOMS OFFICER TO DEATH AT SEME BORDER


Yesterday was a sad day at the Seme Border as one Joel was hit by stray bullets when officers of the Nigeria Customs Services attempted to apprehend a smuggler. 

The residents of the area took to the streets in protest and in the process stopped the vehicle of an officer J.I Motelu who knew nothing about the earlier incident, dragged him out and then beat him to death. His vehicle was thereafter set ablaze.

Investigations are on-going as seven persons have been arrested in connection with the killing says Lagos Force PRO, Ngozi Braide.

Again, I preach that we should learn to value life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(VIDEO) SUNTAI'S STAGE MANAGED SWEARING IN OF NEW CABINET


Ailing Governor of Taraba State, Mr. Danbaba Suntai, yesterday dissolved the state's cabinet four days after arriving from a Ten months medical treatment trip abroad for injuries sustained when his helicopter crashed.

He also inaugurated the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government, Timothy Kataps,  as well as the Chief of Staff, Mallam Aminu Jika. The event which was not televised live was recorded and broadcast via the State  TV in Jalingo.

This Governor is obviously not fit to steer the ship of Taraba state yet. We hope this is not a suicidal mission though.

MUGABE ORDERS ANIMALS TO BE SHIPPED INTO ZOO TO IMPRESS VISITORS


Hundreds of safari animals have been transported across Zimbabwe to a poaching-prone nature reserve ahead of a UN meeting to make the area appear populated.

The decision to move the animals from a private conservancy in southeastern Zimbabwe to Victoria falls is to ‘repopulate’ the preserve before the United Nations world tourism body’s meeting for the benefit of visiting delegates.

Giraffes, zebra, several types of antelopes and hundreds of wildebeest have been transported for over 400 miles, the Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force of independent environmentalists said.

Fifteen-year-old stowaway, Daniel Oikhena, who hid in the undercarriage of a Lagos bound plane from Benin city has been offered scholarship to the University level by the De Raufs’ Volunteer Group, a group of supporters of Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

His suicidal mission has earned him a scholarship offer but it shouldn't be a motivating factor for other children to attempt similar missions.

The LASG has acquired the concession of the Lekki-Epe Expressway as the investors were planning to increase the toll due to rising interest rates on local loans.

With the recent development,the LASG will fix the toll fares for vehicles while LCC will continue to maintain the road.

ANOTHER LADY CONFIRMS ESE WALTER'S ALLEGATION AGAINST PASTOR BIODUN OF COZA


Many were shocked when a young lady, Ese Walter, boldly wrote about her affair with popular abuja based Pastor Biodun of COZA. 

While the Pastor has refused to either deny or confirm the story, although he mentioned that "He has been directed to keep mute", another lady (Franca E), who albeit refused to publish her full names confirmed that Ese's story could be true as she was almost Pastor Biodun's victim as well.

She even claims she has pictures and audio recording of her conversation with the pastor........

KIDNAPPERS DEMAND N150M RANSOM FOR OZEKHOME


There are indications that kidnappers of Chief Mike Ozekhome(SAN) may have contacted his family and demanded for N150M ransom fee.

 Recall that the lawyer and human rights activist was KIDNAPPED in Edo State on Friday. Four Policemen were killed during the gun battle as they tried to rescue him.

THREE YEAR OLD GIRL RAPED IN NIGER STATE. #SAYNOTORAPE


The end is not in sight for the campaign against child molestation and rape in Nigeria as a two girls (three year old and six year old) were reportedly raped in Niger State and Ogun State respectively.

Adult males now take advantage of this little ones to satisfy their sexual urge. Every Parent should be advised on the need to keep an eye on their girls in other to avoid stories that touch.
