The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), in the early hours of Wednesday, officially unveiled Sunday Ogorchukwu Oliseh as the new coach of the country's senior national team, the Super Eagles.
Mr. Oliseh, a former Super Eagles captain, signed a three-year contract with his new employer, the NFF, at a press conference at the Abuja National Stadium.
During the ceremony, NFF President Amaju Pinnick handed Mr. Oliseh jersey number 15, the same jersey number he wore during his playing career with the Super Eagles, and described him as the “Pep Guardiola” of African football, referring to the successful FC Bayern Munich manager.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Mr. Oliseh said, "It's a great honor to be a coach. I am not coming as a messiah but as a man who is ready to serve my country and do my best to move Nigerian football forward."
