It's not uncommon for models in sky-high heels to occasionally fall over on the runway, but it's a whole other matter when three women in one show take dramatic spills. That's exactly what happened at the Seccry Hu Sheguang presentation at China Fashion Week on Sunday, where models teetered precariously down the catwalk in seven- or eight-inch-high platforms.
One by one, three different models tripped up, with photographers capturing each awkward moment as they tumbled to the floor.
The most spectacular fall was executed by a model in a bright red leather body suit who strutted down the runway in matching red towering platform heels. She carried a long, flowing shawl behind her, which ultimately led to her downfall - literally - when it got caught under her foot.
In a sequence of photos, the woman is at first seen with a shocked expression as she leans dramatically to one side. Finally her legs give way and she is left sitting on the floor, with one leg splayed awkwardly to the side.
Another model who was decked out in a bushy red wig and long red dress suffered a malfunction on the runway when her stripper-style heels caused her to trip forward.
The woman closed her eyes and pulled a face as she tumbled onto her knees, visibly wincing with likely pain and embarrassment.
A third model at the Seccry Hu Sheguang show was undoubtedly wary of making any more mistakes, but her gigantic Christian Louboutin stilettos proved to be too great a hazard.
As she paraded down the catwalk in a sheer dress with black criss-crossed stripes, she lost her balance momentarily before seemingly collecting herself. But then she tripped again, tumbling dramatically onto the floor on one knee and narrowly missing the edge of the raised runway.
Despite the multiple falls, the rest of the presentation went off smoothly and Chinese-Dutch designer Hu Sheguang's creations were met with approval.
