Cowell tweeted three black and white photos featuring himself, Silverman and Eric, telling his followers: ‘…now you can see how handsome little Eric is’.
The 54-year-old was over the moon to finally meet his first child, adding: ‘I never knew how much love and pride I would feel’ along with a picture of him cradling Eric.
Eric was born on February 14 at the Lenox Hill hospital in New York. Simon was due to film Britain’s Got Talent auditions but jetted out to be by Lauren’s side for the birth.
Simon’s famous mates flooded Twitter to congratulate the X Factor judge on his happy news.
David Walliams wrote: ‘Huge congratulations to @SimonCowell and Lauren Silverman on the birth of their son. They have named him David Sinitta Louis-Walsh Cowell.’
Eric was named after Cowell’s father who died in 1999 of a heart attack aged 81.
