For the second time in two weeks, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim, had to sneak the embattled Minister of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah, out of the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday to avoid a barrage of questions from journalists.
Oduah was in the villa for the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by Vice-President Namadi Sambo.
The minister is currently in the eye of the storm over the purchase of N255m BMW bulletproof cars by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority with many stakeholders calling for her removal.
Before the meeting started, the embattled minister remained glued to her seat inside the Council Chambers venue as a few of her colleagues exchanged pleasantries with her in apparent show of solidarity.
Immediately after the meeting, she quickly joined the SGF just as she did when the last meeting of the council was held two weeks ago.
As journalists ran after her, seeking her reaction to the industrial action embarked upon by private jet owners over new aviation charges, the embattled minister shouted “no comment” as she quickly jumped into the back seat of Anyim’s waiting sport utility vehicle.
Before the vehicle took off with both government officials at the back seat, Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, also joined them and displaced Anyim’s security detail on the front seat.
