YOU MUST READ THIS >>>> MURDER AND ABUSE OF MILITARY UNIFORM

I love editorial articles with a passion. Please read this piece from PunchNG on the abuse of power by military men.

Fourteen years after the return of civil rule to Nigeria, some elements in the military have yet to shed the despicable practice of harassing, assaulting, physically abusing and killing innocent civilians. In yet another case of murder, a Nigerian Army private, Benjamin Ezinne, on December 30, beat Bashiru Adebayo, a commercial bus driver, to death in Lagos. It was a needless tragedy, but Adebayo died nevertheless simply because he demanded that Ezinne should pay his bus fare. Life is sacred, and no Nigerian should lose it so cheaply because of an ill-disciplined man in uniform. Adebayo’s death is unwarranted. It is a barbaric act that must be punished.

Gorgeous Award-winning artiste Nikki Laoye speaks about her career and other issues in this interview granted to a Punch correspondent.

Did you expect to win in the Best Vocal Performance Female Category at the Hip Hop World Awards?

I won’t say I expected to win but it was something I prayed for. It was not just about the award but what winning it meant   to me because the song  ‘Only you’ that got me the award was dedicated to the memory of my father and  God who saw me through my down time. It was a song that came at a time when I had to lean on God and get out of the depression I fell into after I lost my dad.

Late Juliana died few weeks after the torture
The family of the women sodomized and tortured by members of the Odua People’s Congress (OPC) is speaking out about the perpetrators and victims in the Ejigbo Pepper Sodomy case, and now it a clear case of murder.

Click HERE, HERE and HERE to read previous posts.

There were three victims in the crime - the sodomized woman, Juliana, her stepmother, Ajoke, and her stepsister, Nike, 12.  The 12 year old is the second victim in the video clip. The third victim, Ajoke, was brought in for torture but not shown on the video that circulated.

Juliana, who was very obvious in the video is dead.

The video first aired on the internet in February 2013 shows a faceless gang attacking two women, unidentified, stripping them naked, and thrusting ground pepper and hard sticks into the genitals of one of them and covering her in a heavy liquid.  A second victim, a teenage girl, was tortured as well.

Mr. Agomah Freeman, the palm wine tapper, whose wife and children were tortured was said to have been billed N150, 000 by a powerful traditional ruler in the area to have his family released to him, and was banished from the area. Mr. Agomoh and the rest of his surviving family have now relocated to Ilorin in Kwara after failing to pay the “fines” imposed by the traditional ruler and political associates of the Ejigbo local government chairman, Kehinde Bamigbetan.

Mr. Agomoh has now publicly admitted that his daughter, Juliana, died a few weeks after the torture in Ajase, Contonou, Benin Republic, where she had gone for treatment in her his hometown.  That not only was she blinded and sodomized with pepper, but also her breasts were sliced leaving her with a deadly injury that got infected.

STILL ON THE MYSTERY HEALING WATER IN ENUGU

Since the 11th of November 2013, thousands of people have thronged the Nachi community in Udi Local Government, Enugu State in search of miracles.

Miracle not through a prophet or a church but from a lake that allegedly sprang from the ground. Reports informed that Fulani herdsman spotted the rising of the water from the ground, then communicated same to their brothers in far away north. They claim there was an initial prophecy that such will happen and that the water possesses healing powers. The water allegedly cured the blindness one of their brothers who drank and bathed with it.

When the news spread, the lake became famous. People traveled from very far places to put their faith to test. The result is what can be observed in the video. Very dirty and as reported smelly water. My people still do not mind and I sincerely can't blame them. The reason is not far fetched.

We live in a poverty stricken country where such news of  miracles sells faster than the speed of light. People cannot afford basic healthcare hence will jump at free miracles wherever it is available. I doubt if the Enugu state government have taken steps to address the looming epidemic as a result of the many users who have drank and swam in the famous healing water.

Miracles are real no doubt. I have had personal experiences of divine visitations but a situation where no one has been able to come out publicly to reveal that he/she was healed of a specific ailment after visiting Nachi Lake yet people still travel there daily is disheartening

Business is booming in Nachi, from Okada Riders to Suya Sellers and even Jerry Can sellers. One of these people making gains from this event might have even orchestrated and packaged this lake into a miracle lake.

The news of healing will reach you through this medium once there is any although we might wait till eternity.

TROUBLE LOOMS FOR TUKUR AS JONATHAN SPEAKS AGAINST HIM

At last, President Goodluck Jonathan has turned against the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, as the crisis rocking the ruling party worsens. The President openly condemned the party chairman’s administrative style at a stormy  meeting  with Tukur  and  other members of the PDP National Working Committee at the presidential villa  in Abuja  on Thursday night.

At the meeting held under what could best be described as a tensed atmosphere, the President was said to have expressed his displeasure over the way the PDP chairman was running the party. Specifically, the President was said to have pointedly accused Tukur of not working well with some organs of the party like the members of the National Executive Committee, Board of Trustees, governors and state party chairmen   across the states.

Smalling claimed the outfit was ‘an attempted comedy play’ on the popular ‘Jagerbomb’ alcoholic drink, which is thought to be why he attached bottles of Jagermeister and Red Bull to his belt as imitation grenades.
The costume has caused fury among survivors and relatives of those affected by terrorist attacks.
