MAN(26) RAPES THEN KILLS 10-YEAR-OLD COUSIN IN OSUN - CLAIMS SHE LURED HIM.

A 26-year-old man, Rafiu Idowu, is being detained by the Osun State Police Command for allegedly killing his 10-year-old cousin, Tawa Bilawu, after he allegedly raped her.

Idowu who confessed to have committed the offence, said the victim lured him into raping her when she paid a visit to him at his family residence at Ile-Ogbo in Ayedire Local Government Area of the state.

President Jonathan on Sunday hosted members of the victorious Golden Eaglets who won the 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Soccer Championship on Friday in United Arab Emirates. He also announced a cash gift of N2m each for all the players.

The players, their handlers and key members of the Nigerian Supporters’ Club, according to the President, will also be honoured with national honours during the next award ceremony.

The most powerful storm ever has hit the Philippines. The monster TYPHOON (Tropical Cyclone), with winds reaching 237km/h, killed more than 100 people, tossed houses into the sea and sent millions fleeing for shelter in the Philippines yesterday.

The poverty-stricken country has already endured almost a year of earthquakes and floods with no fewer than 24 disastrous weather events.

An official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps owns 61 houses in Abuja have been bursted in Abuja for several crimes.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission, ICPC, said it has broken the ring of land racketeers in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The agency said it seized 61 houses, plots of land and several bank accounts belonging to a top official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSDC, an agency whose many officials were involved in the fraud.

MAN(47) ACCUSED OF RAPING A 4-YR-OLD GIRL GETS N300,000 BAIL

An Apapa Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, yesterday, slammed a bail of N300, 000 on a 47-year-old man, Orire Agidiogun, who allegedly raped a four-year-old child.

In addition, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Oluyemisi Adelaja, ordered that the accused should produce two sureties, who must show evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

ROBBERS SOLD PASUMA'S RANGE ROVER FOR N950,000

Kasali Adegoke, the leader of the armed robbery gang that robbed popular fuji musician, Wasiu Alabi aka Pasuma, of his 2006 Range Rover Sport, says he sold the vehicle for N950,000.

A search on the Internet by our correspondent, however, suggested that used version of the vehicle sells for N3.5m, while a new one costs between N8m and N9m.

THREE ZENITH BANK WORKERS ARRESTED FOR $2M FRAUD

The Special Anti Robbery Squad, Ikeja, Lagos have arrested Three employees of Zenith Bank Plc national headquarters, Ajose Adeogun street, Victoria Island, Lagos State, for their alleged involvement in a $2m fraud.

Police sources stated that a senior official of the bank, Ms. Olubukola Oritogun, and two others allegedly defrauded unsuspecting customers of the said sum. A fourth yet-to-be identifed person is said to be on the run.
