The advent of the BRT System in Lagos was met  with great applause as the convenience, comfort  and safety it offers is incomparable with the infamous MOLUE.

However, many commuters have recently been complaining about the BRT services. Most of the buses are not well maintained so when a LAGBUS with number plate, XU 998 AAA, crashed into 4 stationary vehicles under Carter Bridge at the Ebute-Ero area yesterday, the question "ARE WE SAFE?" immediately comes to mind.

In Yobe State, ASP  Olusoji Elegbede(39) who was the Administrative officer at Gashua Police Division was shot dead by his colleague Corporal Andrew Bitus(53) because Olusoji ordered him not to arrest and detain his(Bitus) estranged lover citing that the matter is a civil case.

Jane, Olusoji's widow narrates the sad event which led to her husband's demise........................

“The station is situated in a barracks and we all live in the barracks. The corporal (Bitus), was dating an elderly woman and they had a quarrel. Bitus wanted to part ways with the woman, so he told her to refund the money he had spent on her but the woman refused.

NIGERIAN CONJOINED TWINS SUCCESSFULLY SEPARATED IN INDIA

India doctors declared Wednesday that a pair of formerly conjoined twins were healthy and happy after they were successfully separated in a marathon “nerve-wracking” operation in India by a team of 40 specialists.

The one-year-old girls from Nigeria, sporting matching bright pink dresses, sat patiently on their parents’ laps as doctors explained the separation last month during an 18-hour operation at a New Delhi hospital.

The "MONSTER OF CLEVELAND" is dead. Ariel Castro(53) who kidnapped and raped three teenagers at Cleveland-USA for ten years, even fathering a daughter with one of his victims hanged himself in his prison cell.

He had only spent about 33 days of his 1000 years prison sentence before he took his own life.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT VICE-CHAIRMAN ARRESTED FOR RAPE & ROBBERY.

Ebonyi State Police are currently interrogating the vice-chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, Mr. Sunday Ogba, who was arrested on Monday for allegedly masterminding the robbery and rape of one Mrs. Margret Elom and her two daughters.

Speaking on the arrest in Abakaliki, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sylvester Igbo, said the arrest of the vice-chairman was as a result of the confessional statement made by one of the suspects, Sunday Nwaokponku, who was arrested for allegedly being involved in the act.

COURT ORDERS EFCC TO SEIZE PROPERTY OF N33BN PENSION THIEVES

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, yesterday, cleared the way for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to freeze the illicit property of two of the prime suspects in the looting of the Police Pension fund to the tune of about N33 billion.

The two suspects to lose their property scattered in many locations in Lagos and Abuja, are Atiku Abubakar Kigo and Uzoma Cyril Attang, who are alleged to have used the stolen funds to acquire the assets.

NIGERIA ARMY RETIRES 10 TOP GENERALS

The Nigerian Army has retired 10 top Generals in what is termed a routine exercise. The Generals have reached terminal level.

Among those affected were the former Director of Training and Operations, Defence Headquarters, Maj.-Gen. Lawrence Ngugbane, the former Commander of Training, Doctrine and Command, Maj.-Gen. Babagana  Mungonu, and the former Chief of Research and Development, Maj.-Gen. Obinali Ariahu.

Some of them were asked to proceed on the compulsory terminal leave in June this year.

RAPIST COLLAPSED WHEN HE WAS INFORMED OF HIS VICTIM'S HIV STATUS

A rapist in the UK got served after he was informed that the woman he raped had the HIV Virus. Perfect reward for his crime.

The rapist,Richard Thomas, 27,  who was put behind bars  faces an agonising wait to find out if he has caught HIV from his victim.

He collapsed when police informed him about the woman's medical status and is still waiting to hear if he has contracted the incurable virus. Thomas, of Leigh in Greater Manchester, knew the woman and was aware that she has another illness but had not known about the HIV. The court heard he was shocked when he was told and asked to be taken to hospital, Liverpool Crown Court heard.He had let himself into her home in the middle of the night and she awoke to find him raping her.'She froze and no words were exchanged. He pulled up his shorts and left,' said Harry Pepper, prosecuting.
