I DID NOT STEAL MONEY >>> EX-CONVICT BODE GEORGE

Former PDP Vice-Chairman, BODE GEORGE, who spent time in jail few years ago recounts his ordeal with a PUNCH reporter.

Read the full interview below...................

Are you a thief?

I can refer you to the judgment because it’s already in the public view. At least, the judge was honest enough to say ‘no kobo was missing’. It was the greatest convoluted conspiracy that I have ever seen in my life. But you know, as a Christian, if you have belief in God and your faith is very strong, you don’t get shaken.

First of all, if we split contract, it would be for whose benefit? I’m not a contractor; the company did not belong to anybody on the board, so in whose interest? Two, nobody brought a contractor, whether they executed the job, whether they were paid the money, we just finished and the rest was left to the management. Whether they even awarded the contract, I didn’t know. I’ve been keeping quiet but the public must know this and those that have been writing ex-convict think they are abusing me, but they are raining curses on themselves and their families and it will happen. In the name Jesus, all who are convolutedly involved, it will happen to them.

People think that Bode George stole money; whoever is putting it down is raining curses on himself, anytime he writes that. Let him go and find out exactly what happened.

MAN MURDERS 3-MONTH OLD SON FOR RITUAL IN JOS

A 20-year-old Polycarp Tajan from Maikatako Village in Bokkos Jos, confessed in an interview with newsmen in Jos, the state capital, that he suffocated his three-month-old baby boy (names withheld) to enable him cut off his tongue for money-making ritual.

Tajan said his quest for money took him to a native doctor, who asked him to bring the tongue of his first-born child for the ritual. He equally blamed his action on the devil, influence of alcohol and greed.
He said: “I was really in need of money and someone told me about money ritual. I went to meet a native doctor, who demanded the tongue of my first-born child.

JAMES IBORI GAVE ME N2.4BN ($15M) BRIBE - NUHU RIBADU

Nuhu Ribadu, former EFCC Boss, finally gave his testimony against Convict Ibori in a London court.

Desperate to halt a probe into his finances, former Delta State Governor James Ibori tried to bribe anti-corruption boss Nuhu Ribadu in 2007 with $15m in cash in a bag so heavy one man alone could not lift it, Ribadu told a London court on Thursday.

Reuters quoted Ribadu as telling the court that he pretended to take the bribe because he wanted the cash as evidence to use against Ibori in a prosecution, but rather than keep the money for himself he had it taken straight to the Central Bank of Nigeria to be kept safe in a vault.

Ibori was governor of oil-producing Delta State in southern Nigeria from 1999 to 2007. In 2012, he pleaded guilty at London’s Southwark Crown Court to 10 counts of fraud and money-laundering and was jailed for 13 years.

He is the most senior Nigerian politician to be held to account for the corruption that has for decades held back Africa’s most populous nation and top oil producer.

CATHOLIC CHURCH MAY FAIL IF ITS STANCE ON GAY, ABORTION & CONTRACEPTIVES DO NOT CHANGE - POPE

The Catholic Church could fall ‘like a house of cards’ if it continues in its obsession with abortion, gay marriage and contraception, the pope has warned.

In a remarkable 12,000 word interview to mark six months in the church’s top job, Francis said he was resolved to reform the church, which had a tendency to get caught up in ‘small minded things ‘. He said: ‘We need to find a new balance otherwise even the moral edifice of the church is likely to fall into a house of cards.’ ‘It is not necessary to talk about these issues all the time,’ he said.

‘We cannot insist only on issues related to abortion, gay marriage and the use of contraceptive methods.’

The extraordinarily frank interview, conducted by a Jesuit priest in Rome, was published simultaneously by 16 of the order’s newspapers around the world.

CONVICT JAMES IBORI OWNS ONE-THIRD OF OANDO NIG PLC

It is no longer news that the former Governor of Delta State(Nigeria) is currently rotting in a British jail (why not KiriKiri???)

It was a startling revelation at a London court Tuesday at the hearing on the confiscation of assets of the former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori, as he was said to be owner of almost one-third of Oando Oil Plc.

On the second day of the ongoing hearing at the Sourthwark Crown Court, London, Crown Prosecutor, Sasha Wass told the court that Ibori himself made the declaration to a bank with which he wanted to open an account a few years ago. But the oil company has described Ibori as an insignificant shareholder.

WHY NIGERIA WAS BARRED FROM US VISA LOTTERY

The US Government dashed the hopes of many Nigerians who annually look forward to an opportunity to pursue the good life in America when Nigeria was excluded from the list of countries eligible to participate in the Visa Lottery program.

Details of the reasons behind this huge decision have emerged.

The embassy has said that the decision was based on laid-down laws guiding the programme. Also, an analysis of entries showed that the U.S. embassy in Nigeria has never received any same-sex marriage application for the DV lottery programme as Nigerian laws do not recognise such union.

NNPC REFUSED TO REMIT N1.7TRILLION IN 3 YEARS TO FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

IS THE NNPC ABOVE THE NIGERIAN LAW?

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pocketed N1.65 trillion of government funds between 2009 and 2011; and to date has not remitted or accounted for the sum, a study by the National Assembly Budget and Research Office says.

While the federal government complained about lack of funds for important projects within the period, NNPC made a surplus of more than N2 trillion within the period but paid nothing out of the excess to the government as required by law, the report says.

The Fiscal Responsibility Act (2007) requires a part of surpluses made by ministries, departments and agencies, to be transferred to government’s central account – the Consolidated Revenue Fund.

The amount raised by the NNPC was only part of its operational surplus, which should have been paid into the government’s coffers as Internally Generated Revenue. The amount would have been enough to fund more than half of the entire 2009 budget, which was less than N3 trillion.

'He said that he didn’t remember pulling the trigger of his firearm until about one hour later,' according to the Seattle police report. Later he said that he felt the intended victim 'disrespected' him.
