KEMI ADEOSUN RESIGNS AS NIGERIA'S FINANCE MINISTER FOLLOWING NYSC CERTIFICATE FORGERY SCANDAL.
Nigeria's Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun has resigned following the allegation of NYSC certificate forgery levelled against.
Few months ago, it was reported that she did not participate in the mandatory one-year national youth service scheme, instead, she forged an exemption certificate many years after graduation.
The NYSC certificate which is a requirement for government and private sector jobs in Nigeria, prescribes punishment for anyone who absconds from the scheme or forges its certificates. Section 13 subesection 5 of the law also criminalises giving false information or illegally obtaining the agency’s certificate. It provides for up to three-year jail term for such offenders.

FOURTH YEAR REMEMBRANCE OF MY LATE FATHER, "BARRISTER FELIX ODUSANYA DINA."
This blogpost is late by a day but I have an excuse. I almost considered letting go but it has become a tradition for me to remember my late Father this way. The internet network in my former hood Ipaja has never been so bad, I struggled to get online this past weekend during my long visit.
It's been 4 years since "Bari Ololo" left us. As mentioned in my previous post, I'm thankful for his life and death. "Eyin ti won fi si le ko ba je." The family is getting bigger as Taiwo and Mololuwa have become your flesh and blood too.
The void you left in everyone's heart cannot be filled. We talk about you all the time.
"Omo lo da bayi, gbobgo ara e nko, honey ni".......... Smiles.
Such a joy filled soul.
Your son became Taiwo's husband in 2017. God made it possible.
Keep resting Dad.

FEMI ADESINA, THE SPECIAL ADVISER ON MEDIA TO PRESIDENT BUHARI COMPARES DEATH FIGURES OF NIGERIANS DURING APC'S 3 YEARS AND PDP'S 16 YEARS RULE.
The sad and unfortunate killings in Plateau State over the weekend have been turned to opportunity to once again play irresponsible politics, particularly by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which says it is declaring seven days of mourning.
These are dolorous times that call for deep introspection on how cheap human lives have become, and the proffering of actionable ideas on how to get out of the bind. But the PDP would rather dance on the graves of the dead, playing cheap, infantile politics.
The comatose and prostrate party is declaring seven days of mourning, during which flags in its offices would be flown at half mast nationwide. But unknown to the party, those flags had been forcefully lowered since its 2015 loss at the polls, and may remain so for a long time to come, because Nigerians are politically discerning, and cannot be hoodwinked by cheap antics.

Netherlands' second tier side Fortuna Sittard have suspended former Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh for what it calls "unacceptable actions".
The club statement said that he has been put on "non-active" duties, stopping short of saying he has been sacked.

PADDY ADENUGA NARRATES THE INTRIGUING STORY OF HOW HE ALMOST BOUGHT CHEVRON NETHERLANDS WHEN HE WAS JUST 29.
It was October 2013. Two years had passed since I had left the family business in Lagos, Nigeria and moved to London, England to start my own oil trading company. My time in the family business, as a director in the telecoms division and upstream oil & gas company was challenging to say the least but engaging and ultimately rewarding. However, I have never felt comfortable sitting back and getting a golden pass through life. Whilst the easy thing to do was to be a “good boy and good son” and enjoy all the luxuries of being in a family business – I decided that striking it out on my own once again was the best course of action.

FORMER PRESIDENT OBASANJO WRITES PRESIDENT BUHARI, TELLS HIM TO HALT 2019 AMBITION.
Since we are still in the month of January, it is appropriate to wish all Nigerians Happy 2018. I am constrained to issue this special statement at this time considering the situation of the country. Some of you may be asking, “What has brought about this special occasion of Obasanjo issuing a Special Statement?” You will be right to ask such a question. But there is a Yoruba saying that ‘when lice abound in your clothes, your fingernails will never be dried of blood’. When I was in the village, to make sure that lice die, you put them between two fingernails and press hard to ensure they die and they always leave blood stains on the fingernails. To ensure you do not have blood on your fingernails, you have to ensure that lice are not harboured anywhere within your vicinity.
