SLAIN ARMY COLONEL BURIED IN KADUNA (PICTURES).

The remains of abducted Colonel Samaila Inusa were, yesterday, buried at the old Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA ) burial ground in Kaduna State.

Col. Inusa, who was a chief instructor at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Jaji, near Kaduna, was kidnapped at gunpoint along Refinery Junction in Chikun Local Government Area of the state last Sunday.

The deceased was buried according to Islamic rites, after which he was given military honour with three gun salutes.

Dressed in the national colour of the green-whitegreen, the body of Col. Inusa arrived the old NDA cemetery at about 11.45 from the 44 Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna and was committed to mother earth at about 12 noon.

Meanwhile, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant-Gen. Tukur Buratai has vowed to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act and make them face the full wrath of the law of the land. Represented by the Chief of Administration at the Army Headquarters, Maj-Gen. Ado Abubakar, the COAS said the Army was mourning Inusa who had served the country meritoriously .

He described the late officer as a gallant and professional soldier and noted that the Army was not happy the way and manner he was killed.

“ Inusa was a great soldier. We all feel the pain. Though death is inevitable and nobody can run away from it. I came in to represent my boss, the Chief of Army because the Nigerian Army is mourning the death of one of us

who has really served this country greatly and we are not really happy the way he died. But, whatever that has happened, we shall see to the end of it all.”

Also, Commander, Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Maj-Gen. Kasim Abdulkarim said the late officer who served under his command, was loyal, committed and hardworking, an officer who would be fondly missed by his colleagues in the military.
