KELECHI NWAKALI SIGNS 5-YR DEAL WITH ARSENAL.

Box-to-box midfielder who was player of the tournament at last year's U17s World Cup will officially join the Gunners when he turns 18 in June.

Nigeria wonderkid Kelechi Nwakali has revealed he has signed a five-year deal with Arsenal.

The deal for the highly-rated 17-year-old is understood to be for a £3million fee agreed with the country’s Diamond Football Academy.

Nwakali, a box-to-box midfielder, will officially join the Gunners when he turns 18 in June.

He was player of the tournament as Nigeria lifted the Under-17 World Cup in Chile last year.

He had also been chased by Manchester City and Bayern Munich but was determined to work with Arsene Wenger.

The youngster, however, has been desperate to join the club he supported as a child.

He has already had a tour of the Gunners’ facilities in London and has since flown back to Nigeria.

He said: “I just came back from London, I have signed a five-year contract with Arsenal.

"So many teams were interested in me but it has been my dream at a tender age to play for Arsenal.”
