OVER 150 FEMALES WERE RAPED IN LAGOS IN THE LAST ONE YEAR. #SAYNOTORAPE

No fewer than 150 females were raped, while 31 babies were abandoned on the streets of Lagos in the last one year.

The Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, said this at a press briefing in Ikeja on Tuesday.

Akinbile-Yussuf explained that 150 reported cases of sexual and physical abuse were officially recorded, while five pregnant schoolchildren were assisted to access adequate ante-natal and delivery services and were also integrated back into school.

OLAMIDE CONFIRMS EXIT OF LIL KESH FROM YBNL, SUPPORTS THE DECISION.

Contrary to diverse opinions, YBNL boss Olamide actually planned and supports the exit of Lil Kesh from YBNL at the expiration of his 2 years contract. This is an unusual move in an industry where record label owners prefer holding on to an Artiste for as long as possible especially when such Artiste has become successful. A good example is Mavins & Wande Coal saga.

Olamide revealed that the plan was for his Artistes to become record label owners after their contract expires. This seems to be applicable to Lil Kesh only as Viktoh still hasn't been able to prove himself in this highly competitive industry.

LIL KESH SET TO LEAVE YBNL.

Reports reaching us indicates that Lil Kesh who recently dropped his first studio album under YBNL label has refused a contract renewal. Kesh may set up his own label which will be named after his first album YAGI - Young And Getting It.

This comes as a shock to many industry observers as YBNL boss Olamide is still quiet about the whole development.

The pertinent question remains if Lil Kesh will able to survive in the Naija music industry on his own while not forgetting that Olamide also took a similar risk few years ago.

Check here for updates on this topic.

RIYAD MAHREZ NAMED PFA PLAYER OF THE YEAR.

He had actually been playing fairly poorly of late. Opponents had been doubling up, showing him into traffic, stifling Leicester City’s sensational find. For a time there, it looked like Riyad Mahrez had been sussed out.

On this evidence, though, that was just wishful thinking. Crowned PFA Player of the Year in London, Mahrez was back with a bang against Swansea City, reminding us of the skills that make him so special.

There is every chance now that he will be regarded in future years as a key part in one of the greatest sporting stories ever told. Supporters will reminisce about the way the Algeria international used to run with the ball, his incredibly wiry frame somehow withstanding the bumps and barges of this physical league.

Lagos State Government through its KAI agency forced people to use the pedestrian bridge earlier this morning and the result was human congestion. People had to queue to use  the bridge.

It is obvious the single pedestrian bridge in existence is insufficient. We are hoping Governor Ambode addresses this swiftly.

PASTOR TUNDE BAKARE BLAST POLITICIANS & POLITICAL PARTIES FOR POLITICIZING ABDUCTION OF CHIBOK GIRLS.

The General Overseer, Latter Rain Assembly, Lagos, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has lampooned politicians and political parties for using the abduction of 219 Chibok schoolgirls to score cheap political points.

He noted that the nation had not given the issue the necessary thoughtfulness and seriousness it deserved, stressing that those who are in a position to act have not taken sufficient action towards addressing it or even towards calming the anxiety of the waiting Chibok parents.

The cleric said this in a sermon on Sunday during the thanksgiving service to mark the global action week in commemoration of the second anniversary of the abduction of the schoolgirls organised by the BringBackOurGirls coalition at the Unity Fountain, Abuja.

PRESIDENT BUHARI TO RETURN BUDGET TO NASS (@NGRSENATE) OVER MISSING KEY PROJECTS.

The 2016 budget has suffered yet another setback as the President, Muhammadu Buhari is reported set to return the document forwarded to him on Thursday to the National Assembly.

According to source close to the Presidency, the 2016 budget documents sent by the National Assembly to the President on Thursday fell below the President’s expectations as major national projects and programmes planned towards turning the Nigerian economy around were either removed or funds allocated to them slashed by the Lawmakers.

By implication, against the earlier schedule, the President will not be signing the Appropriation Bill into law before he jets out on his trip to China.

THE GATHERING OF VULTURES - FANI KAYODE.

The vultures are circling yet I am not disturbed because they cannot eat my flesh. The wolves are howling yet I shall not retreat because they cannot crush my bones. The bullies are threatening yet I shall not bow because they cannot break my spirit or conquer my soul. The demons are baying yet I shall not fear because they cannot drink my blood. The liars are lying yet I shall not be deterred for I know the Ancient of Days, the mighty God that I serve.

The foxes are plotting yet I shall not be moved and I shall treat them with the contempt and disdain that they deserve. The snakes are hissing yet I am not perturbed knowing that their poison and hate cannot overwhelm or blind me. The dogs are barking yet I continue to rejoice, knowing that lions do not tremble at the bark of an accursed mongrel.

The Accuser of the Brethren has begun his devlish work of slander yet I shall lose no sleep, knowing that in the end truth always prevails. There is evil in the land and the ravenous beasts of our dark forest are roaring, yet I shall not run.
