MARIKANA MASSACRE - STILL UNRESOLVED AFTER ONE YEAR


August 16, 2012, thirty four South African Miners were shot be Police during the strike & protest for wage increase, an event caught on tape and popularly referred to as MARIKANA MASSACRE.



One year later, investigations are neither concluded nor has anyone been found guilty of murder.

This is AFRICA where the POLICE who swore to protect lives of civilians snuff it out themselves most times claiming they acted in self defense.

OLUMEGBON'S PALACE IN LAGOS ISLAND RAZED BY FIRE


The popular Olumegbon's Palace in Lagos Island was razed by intense fire yesterday. About 30 rooms in the compound were also destroyed as nothing could be salvaged from the fire.

Reports claim that the fire which started at about 7am was difficult to control because most of the buildings in the area are too close together.

QUACK DOCTOR DELIVERS 90 BABIES IN LAGOS

The Police in Lagos have arrested one Stephen Nwankwo for operating a maternity clinic under false pretense of being a medical doctor.

A man who holds a secondary school certificate, Stephen Nwankwo, but worked as a doctor in a fake hospital has been arrested alongside the owner of the hospital.

Nwankwo said they took delivery of over 90 babies within the two years he worked in the hospital established by 39-year-old Gabriel Onyema, another secondary school leaver, who lives in Ghana and sells paper.

JUDGE ORDERS CHRIS BROWN TO 1,000 MORE HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE


Chris Brown's hope of being let off the hook(in the assault case against Rihanna) by a Judge in Los Angeles has been dashed. The Judge ruled that he violated his probation by submitting fraudulent reports about how much work he actually did.

Sharp Guy was busted!!!!!!!!!!

The Judge handed him 1,000 extra hours of community service. Brown might clean highways, beach or remove graffiti during these hours.

PROPHET OBADARE SET TO BE BURIED IN OSUN

PROPHET OBADARE

Nigeria's foremost spiritual warrior, Prophet Timothy Obadare, who died on the 21st March 2013 will be buried in grand style at Osun State.

Some of us grew up watching the blind prophet dazzle with his understanding of  God's word and exceptional miracle powers. Born in 1927, Obadare founded and lead the World Soul Winning Evangelical Ministry since 1974 after leading CAC for some years. 

Burial is set for Friday, 23rd August, 2013. He will be greatly missed.


(VIDEO) OKAGBARE DELIVERS BRONZE IN 200M WOMEN'S FINAL


Nigeria's Sprint Queen, Blessing Okagbare, won the bronze medal clocking 22.32secs in the 200M women's final at the on-going IAAF Championship currently taking place at Moscow, Russia.

She came third behind Ivory Coast's Murielle Ahoure (22.32secs) and Pryce (22.17secs) of Jamaica. She has now won two medals at the championship for Nigeria including the silver medal in the long jump event.

PATIENCE JONATHAN PARALYZED ABUJA FOR SEVEN HOURS


The First lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan, brought activities in Abuja to a halt for Seven hours yesterday as she hosted the event tagged "Celebrating Nigerian women for Peace and Empowerment. About 10,000 women from across the nation were involved in the event.

Several motorists could not meet their daily targets due to the aftermath of the event.

Recall how she brings Lagos to a standstill whenever she visits???? Sigh.....

FIVE-YEAR-OLD GIRL MISSING AT THE REDEMPTION CAMP

Oluwaseun Ogungbemile (5), has been declared missing. The young girl was last seen at the Redemption Camp located at Lagos-Ibadan Expressway where she attended the convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God which ended last sunday with her parents.

There are fears that she might have been abducted but no communication has been established for payment of Ransom.

Anyone with useful information regarding her whereabouts should kindly report the matter to the nearest Police Station as the matter is already being investigated.

We believe the Girl will be found by the Power in the name of Jesus. Amen.

NIGERIA WINS MANDELA CHALLENGE


Nigeria defeated Bafana Bafana 2-0 in the 2013 Nelson Mandela Challenge on Wednesday. 
Uche Nwafor came on in the second half to score two classic goals. Musa , Moses and the rest of the team gave a good account of themselves with Ejide getting a rare opportunity to captain the team.
Keshi was happy both sides played quality football in honour of Mandela. Nigeria will next play Malawi in September in a World Cup qualifier.

DEVELOPER WHO DUPED 106 PEOPLE ARRAIGNED IN LAGOS

SALAUDEEN
Ishola Salaudeen, the developer who duped 106 people of millions of naira at Ketu has been arraigned at Magistrate’s Court, Ebute Metta in Lagos.
Salaudeen, who was arraigned on 211 counts of receiving money under false pretence and stealing, was said to have collected sums ranging from N180,000 to N1m for a property from the complainants, many of whom paid into his bank account. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The expectant tenants had converged on the said house on the instruction of Salaudeen, waiting to take possession of their apartments only to shocked to discover that some other people had already taken possession.
The accused was granted bail in the sum of N2m with two sureties and the case adjourned till 9th September 2013 for trial.

The two main gladiators, Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi & his Jos counterpart, OldPapaYoungi, Jonah Jang, may both step down for a neutral PDP Governor.

14-YEAR-OLD GIRL RAPED BY 3 MEN IN LAGOS


Again, the scourge of RAPE resurfaced in Lagos as 3 men, Ijezie Chidiebere(24), Okechukwu Ezea, (25) and Chikezie Ejesi (25) have been arraigned before the Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl at No 8, Kekere-Ekun Street, Orile-Iganmu, Lagos.
 
Chidiebere and his cohorts REPORTEDLY raped the girl in his shop, where he deals in patent medicine.  They are yet to be sentenced.
 
Life imprisonment won't be a bad sentence though our law is milder in this regard.
