KEMI ADEOSUN RESIGNS AS NIGERIA'S FINANCE MINISTER FOLLOWING NYSC CERTIFICATE FORGERY SCANDAL.

Nigeria's Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun has resigned following the allegation of NYSC certificate forgery levelled against.

Few months ago, it was reported that she did not participate in the mandatory one-year national youth service scheme, instead, she forged an exemption certificate many years after graduation.

The NYSC certificate which is  a requirement for government and private sector jobs in Nigeria, prescribes punishment for anyone who absconds from the scheme or forges its certificates. Section 13 subesection 5 of the law also criminalises giving false information or illegally obtaining the agency’s certificate. It provides for up to three-year jail term for such offenders.

This blogpost is late by a day but I have an excuse. I almost considered letting go but it has become a tradition for me to remember my late Father this way. The internet network in my former hood Ipaja has never been so bad, I struggled to get online this past weekend during my long visit.

It's been 4 years since "Bari Ololo" left us. As mentioned in my previous post, I'm thankful for his life and death. "Eyin ti won fi si le ko ba je." The family is getting bigger as Taiwo and Mololuwa have become your flesh and blood too.

The void you left in everyone's heart cannot be filled. We talk about you all the time. 

"Omo lo da bayi, gbobgo ara  e nko, honey ni".......... Smiles.

Such a joy filled soul.

Your son became Taiwo's husband in 2017. God made it possible.

Festus Udoh, a driving instructor at Lizzy Driving School has narrated how he allegedly lured a 23-year-old National Youth Service Corps member, Miss Modupe Kawose, into a bush at Mawuko, Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, raped and strangled her to death. Miss Kawose had registered in the driving school where the suspect was an instructor.

The suspect was paraded at the scene of the incident by the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Iliyasu Ahmed.

Narrating how he allegedly lured Modupe to her death, Udoh said she called him on Saturday, demanding her learner’s permit, and he told her to come for it at Lafenwa, also in Abeokuta.

OVER 50 KILLED AS SUICIDE BOMBER ATTACKS MOSQUE IN MUBI, ADAMAWA STATE, NIGERIA.

 At least 50 people lost their lives at a mosque in Mubi Town, Adamawa State on Tuesday morning when a suicide bomber blew himself/herself up. The sex of the attacker is yet to be ascertained.This is the biggest mass killing this year in a region facing an insurgency by Islamist militant group Boko Haram.

The death toll could increase as many survivors are being treated in the hospital, some in critical condition. Mubi is in Adamawa state where Boko Haram militants held territory in 2014, although the insurgents were pushed out of those areas by troops in early 2015.

Tragedy struck in the family of former Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Haliru Bello as his son Bilyamin Bello was on Saturday allegedly stabbed to death by his wife, Maryam Sanda.

Reports indicate that the attack was as a result of allegation of infidelity against Bilyamin by his wife after she saw a text message on his phone. Maryam stabbed her husband in the neck and chest while he was asleep their home in Maitama, Abuja. She was said to have taken him to a hospital where he gave up the ghost. The couple had a daughter together.

26 TEENAGE NIGERIAN FEMALES DIE IN THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REACH EUROPE.

Over the weekend, the bodies of 26 teenage Nigerians were discovered at the Mediterranean Sea by italian officials. More shocking is the fact that they were all females between 14 - 18 years of age.

Italian Police in the southern Italian port city of Salerno are investigating the cause of death as they fear that the women may have been sexually assaulted or tortured. Every year, hundreds of Africans including Nigerians attempt to cross the over to Europe via Libya, a journey of death. 

MEEK MILL SENTENCED TO BETWEEN 2 - 4 YEARS JAIL TERM FOR VIOLATING PROBATION.

Rapper Meek Mill received a sentence of two to four years in prison for violating his probation with a pair of arrests earlier in the year.

The rapper, born Robert Williams, was arrested in March following a fight at a St. Louis airport, although those charges were dropped. Meek Mill also pleaded guilty to reckless driving in October after he posted videos of himself doing wheelies on a dirt bike in New York City.

Common Pleas Court Judge Genece E. Brinkley, who has previously overseen matters relating to Meek Mill's probation, deemed both arrests a violation of the rapper's probation before sentencing him to two to four years in a state prison.

My blog post have been scarce recently due to work load and additional responsibilities. However, making out time to celebrate my late Father, "Barrister Felix Odusanya Dina" is a task that must be accomplished.

He exited this sinful world 3 years ago but great memories of him remains intact. The picture of him up here is easily my favourite because staring right into those eyes gladdens my heart.

Gone but not forgotten, I sometimes imagine what we would have accomplished together in these 3 years. I am not hurting anymore, rather full of praises and thanksgiving daily.

You ensured Christ is the bedrock of your family and I am glad to affirm that the faith is unshaken.

The Olusanya twins are quite big now. They would easily have been your favourite grandchildren because of your love for Twinnies. You would have hailed "Daddy Alex" like this "Baba Onibeji, Ol*k* meji bi ti Ajanaku".

Expressing my entire thoughts about you in words is difficult, in all, I LOVE AND MISS You  DAD.

2017 has been yet another year of great testimonies, it is not even over yet which means many testimonies are still loading. God has been faithful.

Your wife, children, friends and relatives miss you.

Five years after the barbaric killing of four students Ugonna Obuzor, Toku Lloyd, Chiadika Biringa and Tekena Elkanah of the University of Port Harcourt in Aluu community on October 5th 2012, justice have finally been served.

They were beaten and burnt to death by members of Aluu community in the Obio-Apkor Local Government Area of Rivers over allegations that they were thieves. 12 persons were initially arrested but in January this year, 5 persons were discharged and acquitted.

Miscreants raped a 14-year-old girl, Obiamaka Ngozichukwu Orakwe to death in her parents’ house in Abule-Ado area of Lagos State.

The group of miscreants, who usually hanged out in a smoking joint in the area, following the deceased’s negative response to their sexual advances. Tragedy, as gathered, occurred last Monday, while the Junior Secondary School 3 student was alone at home. The miscreants were said to have gained entry into Orakwe’s apartment from the back of the house, scaling the fence. They were said to have gagged her, took turns to rape her and, thereafter, abandoned her in a pool of her blood.
